Derek G. Goodman

Mr. Goodman has over 20 years of investment banking and management experience.

Since joining Scott-Macon in 1997 to establish a Media and Information Industry Group, Mr. Goodman has led the firm’s Media and Information Group, completing both sell-side and buy-side mergers and acquisition assignments. Mr. Goodman has worked with a wide range of clients in the media and information industry including major global corporations, closely-held and family businesses and private equity firms seeking to establish or expand their portfolio investments. Prior to joining Scott-Macon in 1997, Mr. Goodman was Managing Director at Berkery, Noyes & Company, an investment bank in the media industry. Previously, he worked at Henry Ansbacher, Inc., one of the first specialty investment banks to the media industry. Mr. Goodman began his career at Gabelli & Associates analyzing the media industry. Mr. Goodman began his career in the publishing industry as a business operator, founding a weekly newspaper serving New Orleans.

Mr. Goodman is a graduate of Tulane University (B.A.) and the Fordham University Graduate School of Business (M.B.A.), Phi Beta Kappa.
