Interactive Payer Network is acquired by Emdeon

Interactive Payer Network (“IPN”) has announced that it has been acquired by Emdeon Business Services, a division of Emdeon Corporation. Emdeon Business Services is the nation’s leading provider of technology and business process solutions that enhance the healthcare revenue cycle and reduce payer and provider administrative expenses. IPN is a leading technology service provider that acts as an outsourcing partner for HIPAA-compliant healthcare electronic data interchange (EDI).

The acquisition will extend the breadth of Emdeon Business Services’ offering for its payer and preferred provider organization (PPO) clients. IPN’s technology and people will enhance Emdeon’s services for the automated routing of claims to PPOs for repricing and the subsequent distribution of claims to payers for adjudication and payment and further its goal of providing the most comprehensive suite of services to their payer, PPO and provider customers.
